This position is accountable for administering and processing payroll for the US and Canadian employees.

Your role in our future

  • Process full cycle payroll for two company codes, this would include processing semi-monthly and year-end processing.

  • Conduct payroll reconciliation and completion of all taxation and payroll related documentation.

  • Conduct year-end reconciliation, prepare year-end employee tax slips, and submit year-end Government filings to meet deadlines.

  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now and Workday systems.

  • Knowledgeable with Canadian payroll taxation laws and regulations. 

  • Ensure the payroll database is set up properly and to also reflect the following:

    • Current salaries

    • Taxable benefits

    • RRSP & DPSP percentages

    • Garnishments (if applicable)

  • Coordinate with HR and Finance to ensure proper flow and maintenance of payroll information and payments, i.e. annual bonuses, merit increases, commissions, non-annual bonuses, wellness reimbursements, stipend payments etc.…

  • Assist the Finance team with payroll related questions or reconciliations when required.

  • Communicate and respond effectively to payroll inquiries in a timely, accurate and professional manner.

  • Review and resolve issues received from Canada Revenue Agency, Revenue Quebec, Service Canada and other government agencies.

  • Prepare and distribute the Canadian payroll processing dates.

  • Respond to employee’s queries and government-related requests.

  • Work closely with HR, Benefits and Finance required. Knowledge is a Plus!

  • Review Payroll and Accounting for month-end close process.


Your profile
 

  • Minimum of 8 years related experience working with Payroll, Benefits, HR and Finance.

  • Working knowledge of a computerized payroll system and full cycle payroll function.

  • Superior customer service attitude along with the ability to effectively handle enquiries and foster positive relationships with internal and external customers.

  • Strong computer skills with advanced knowledge of MS Office, proficiency with Excel, along with an aptitude for learning new systems and programs.

  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. 

  • Highly organized with the ability to cope with multiple demands and in a fast-paced environment.

  • Quick learner with an eye for details and demonstrated ability to work efficiently with procedures, forms, and figures.

  • Proven problem-solving skills and resourcefulness to handle and follow-through on diverse queries, issues, and administrative issues

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.

  • Very positive attitude and ability to work in an environment where the team is situated out of country.

  • Attention to detail is required.

  • ADP WFN, ADP Vantage and Workday preferred and a PLUS!

  • Payroll auditing experience.

  • US is Bi-weekly, and Canada is Semi-monthly

Education:

  • Completion of a college diploma program or equivalent in Finance and/or payroll processing.

  • University degree preferred and CPA designation preferred.

This position has a salary range of:

$75,500.00 - $113,300.00

Quadient, Inc. has standard ranges for all U.S. - based roles, based on function, level, and scope, which are benchmarked against companies of similar size and growth-stage. To provide greater transparency to candidates, we share these targets on all job postings. Final salary offers are determined by multiple factors, which may include (but are not limited to) geographic location and candidate experience and expertise. As such, they may vary from the ranges listed.
