Your role in our future

(Senior) Legal Counsel
Based in: UK – Hybrid/Remote
Reporting to: Team Lead, Legal Director

Purpose and Scope

Quadient's new strategy, “Back to Growth”, has been launched in January 2019. It aims at allowing us to expand and grow while accelerating our transformation by 2022. In such a context, the Legal department, as a part of the global Transformation department, is growing to support the Company strategy and new organization. UKI is a part one of the 4 main geographical regions of Quadient and covers United Kingdom and Ireland. The operations team is organized around three main Business Lines: Mail: Mailing Related Solutions, Digital: Intelligent Communication Automation and Lockers: Parcel Locker Solutions.

Key Accountabilities

Reporting to the Team Lead, Legal Director for all Regional Counsel globally (Team Lead), the (Senior) Legal Counsel will be primarily responsible for the first level of legal support for the UKI , support the Team Lead as needed on other matters and work collaboratively with the broader legal team on legal projects.

Responsibilities include

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements for the different business lines and business models (e.g. Software Licensing, SaaS, Managed Services, Hardware sale/ leasing, etc.), including complex high-value software license agreements, leasing agreements, services agreements, reseller and partnership agreements, subcontracting agreements, non-disclosure agreements;

  • Providing general commercial legal support to the Sales team

  • Legal monitoring and internal trainings towards commercial and operational teams; and

  • Contributing to implement and develop company policies and procedures in the sales space at a regional level, and advising internal clients on a broad array of issues and risks to ensure compliance with company policies and the law.

  • Providing legal support to HR, Finance or other departments.

Skills, Experience & Education

  • UK qualified with demonstrable experience of contract law.

  • Good knowledge of Intellectual property law

  • A good understanding of Financial Conduct Authority compliance or litigation experience.

  • Extensive experience with internationally operating IT company as an in-house counsel

  • Multi-jurisdictional experience is a plus

  • Contentious (handling non-payment issues) experience is a plus

  • Employment law related experience is a plus

  • Excellent drafting and negotiating skills

  • Autonomous, dynamic with entrepreneurial spirit

  • Proactive and self-confident mindset

  • Resilient and calm under pressure with strong business acumen

  • Ability to seek and find solutions with analytic & pragmatic approach

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with professional positive attitude allowing you to interact effectively with many people of varying levels of responsibility, background and culture

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity

Languages

  • Fluent in writing and speaking English

Some travel within Europe may be required.
