Your role in our future

Commodity Buyer - Mail Division

GENERAL MISSIONS:

The Commodity Buyer is responsible for managing relationships with suppliers from the project phases to the end of life for assigned commodities. This includes ensuring supplier performance meets company objectives in quality, cost, logistics, service, environmental compliance and CSR.

 

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITES

Strategic & Project-Level Responsibilities

  • Participate in defining the Purchasing Strategy and supplier roadmap for relevant commodities.
  • Implement the Purchasing Strategy in collaboration with Project and OEM Buyers.
  • Maintain and update the Purchasing Plan for each project and commodity.

Supplier Evaluation & Selection

  • Evaluate potential suppliers with support from Quality, Logistics, Process Engineering, and other functions, including QHSE and CSR aspects.
  • Select suppliers based on Quality, Cost, Logistics, Services, and compliance with environmental and safety rules.

Quotation, Negotiation & Contracting

  • Prepare and manage requests for quotation (RFQs) for parts and tooling investments.
  • Participate in technical discussions with suppliers.
  • Define terms and conditions for purchased parts and record them in ERP and PDM systems.
  • Resolve pricing issues and negotiate cost improvements.

Prototype & Development Support

  • Manage RFQs and procurement of prototype parts.
  • Monitor supplier development progress including part design, tooling, and sample timelines.
  • Ensure cost, quality, and schedule targets during development phases.

Supplier Performance Management

  • Follow up supplier performance during serial production and react quickly to deviations.
  • Support Quality and Logistics teams with escalations.
  • Lead the cost portion of supplier performance reviews.
  • Conduct business reviews with suppliers to ensure strategic alignment.

Change & Process Management

  • Represent Purchasing in the ECR/ECO process and manage change orders.

Compliance & Corporate Responsibilities

  • Promote and adhere to Environmental and CSR policies.
  • Maintain customer focus and comply with Quality System processes.
  • Promote Health and Safety policies.

Adhere to the company Code of Ethics and promote the Supplier Code of Conduct

 

Your profile

EDUCATIONS and EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree (supply chain, engineering…).
  • Experience: at least 5 years in a similar position.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  1. Technical skills:
  • Purchasing (negotiation, market knowledge, cost management, risk assessment…)
  • Logistics knowledge
  • Good overall technical knowledge (machines assembly, mechanical parts...)

 

  1. Personal skills:
  • Good communication skills in an international environment
  • Open minded
  • Strong leadership, used to make decision.
  • Rigorous
  • Autonomous in action definition and follow-up

 

  1. Language skills:
  • English, Mandarin and Cantonese: fluent
